I purchased. 2 home Power One systems just before hurricane IAN hit. I live on the southern border near Englewood, Fl. The area took a direct hit from what was later reclassified from a category 4 to category 5 hurricane. We lost power for 7 days. I was able with only two units to keep my refrigerator and a small 5 cube chest freezer running . I managed the power by alternating 3 hours on 2 hours off cycling with recharging with solar only. The system did take about 5-8 hours to recharge via solar, but i never lost anything from the freezer or refrigerator. We were even able to loan our systems to friend closer to Port Charlotte for life support systems for their infant. The recharging units available for these unit are invaluable. I even plugged our cell phone directly into the collector screen to charge them. The car adapter played a small role for recharging since fuel was scarce and we had to conserve our gasoline, but it was very comforting to know i had options to recharge our units and protect my family. Since then I have purchased two additional units for a total of 4. Now I have plenty of reserve power for those emergencies if or when they occur.

Fits and does the job

So far we have not "used" it, but after a large windstorm knocked out our power & I used the HomePower One to keep my computer/router running for working from home, I wanted another charging option.
