I love the extension cables! They were hard to find, but I finally got enough for all six of my panels! As part of my emergency plan, I can place my units inside the house and run the extensions outside to the panels. There is plenty of length to move panels as needed while letting the power banks run appliances uninterrupted inside. I conducted several tests and found the extra length did not diminish power input to the banks!
Extended the ten foot cables sufficiently. Weather proofed the connections with rubber tape and heat shrink
So far, so good. We purchased this because of the random power outages in our area. We moved in the area 5 months ago and have had four power outages. This was a much needed purchase. It can power so many things in our home, so we are looking forward to the first extended use.
After purchasing a Home 1 and a Solar 2, found out they are not compatible (without the adapter). Ordered the adapter and installed the system with the extension cable. Adapter got a shipping delay (always), so I cut the end off the extension cable and spliced on the end from the car power adapter to plug in. Getting about 100 watts continuously from the Solar 2 panel and the security system was using 14 watts plugged into the Home 1 (1000 watt- fully charged 100%) onboard AC outlet. At about 11pm the security system transmitted an “AC power loss” so the AC outlet must’ve turned off. I was worried about this continuous use scenario and the AC outlet because it runs some sort of internal fan as well. Drove out the next morning and connected the security system directly to the 12V output via the car power adapter (I previously cut the end off), now drawing 10 watts. So far it’s been working unattended for 3 days. No power loss or interruption yet
Works well I could leave the generator in the house and put the solar panel in the sun on the driveway
